Italy, the gourmet peninsula

From the heel to the thigh, the Boot makes you walk. On its streets in staggered rows, it allows you to think for three minutes that it is the country of shopkeepers, of mopeds and laundry which you dry at home. And then, when you reverse into a street, it leads you amongst the masterpieces of the Renaissance and the imperial antiquity. At this precise moment, each person has a picture in mind. The great Western history, an old past which one hasn’t finished rejuvenating. And then, a crossroads further, the image changes dramatically. Italy is also the country of futurists, contemporary art and gallant cinema. In brief, one doesn’t get to the bottom of it. And moreover, in order to do what?
